Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga in which postures (mainly passive floor postures) are held for longer periods of time (between 3 to 5 minutes) which allows us to work the deeper "yin" tissues of our ligaments, joints, deep fascial networks, and even our bones.

About The Event

* There are two sessions, one from 6:30 to 7:30pm and another one from 8 to 9pm, you can select your preferred time when booking.

This yin yoga class will be focused on increasing the flow of energy on the kidney meridian (yin organ) along with its counterpart, the urinary bladder ( a yang organ) which correspond to winter season and are in charge, energetically of development and repair and provide us with energy when we are overworked or stressed. We will also stimulate energy flow to liver and gall bladder meridian lines that regulate the flow of chi throughout the entire body and are essential for health and since the winter season tends to be a time where many are prone to colds and respiratory disorders, we will target the lung and large intestine meridian line <3

Meridians are a network of channels through which our life energy known as "Qi" (or "prana" in sanskrit) flows. If any of these networks is disrupted, flow cannot flow smoothly causing dysfunctions and imbalances in the body.

Yin yoga is suitable for all. A passive type of yoga normally practised sitting or lying on the floor. Postures are held for longer periods of time than in a traditional yoga class, in this class expect to hold a posture for 3 to 4 minutes to allow gravity and time to work on the deeper tissues of the body. During this class, there are no planks, no warriors, no core work. No dynamic sun salutations. No standing poses

Some of the benefits of Yin yoga are:

Calming and balancing to the mind and body - Regulates energy -Increases mobility and circulation in the body (especially the joints and hips) - Lowering anxiety and stress levels - Better lubrication and protection of joints as well as more flexibility in joints & connective tissue <3
