About The Event
In Chinese medicine, the Five elements phases start with water which represents winter; a time of rest, for some, hibernation. Water has a cooling quality that creates inward stillness and invites us to do less by shortening the amount of daylight and making the temperature drop so that we take a different pace. This resting period where nature and many animals slow down allows a recharge which is what we will be doing.
During these 2 hours together, we will indulge in replenishing practices that allow our mind and nervous system to feel more balanced and our body recharged.
You can expect:
- A short talk about the Water element through a Chinese Medicine lens
- Breathing practices to stimulate calmness and relaxation.
- Myofascial release
- Yin yoga postures that enhance a restful state
- Reflection
- Nidra / visualisation practice
The Water Element is a source that nurtures the foundation of life; our endurance, vitality & longevity as it stores our Jing "essence" which is a fountain of primordial energies that all organ systems in our bodies need to thrive. When this element is out of balance, we may experience emotions such as fear, and anxiety about the unknown and physically, there can be urinary problems, low libido, fatigue, night sweats, dizziness, retarded development, bones and joint issues; back pain, sore knees, brittle bones and teeth, issues with the ears such as deafness, tinnitus, poor memory or concentration.
