About The Event

Myofascial release works on your Myofascia (muscles+fascia tissues) and meridian channels, the long fibrous pathways of connective tissue that contract and adhere from poor postural habits, sudden or repetitive strain, muscle injury, structural imbalances, habitual movement (or lack thereof.) This type of self care aims to relax muscles, improve blood flow and lymphatic circulation, reduce stiffness, increase hydration in the body tissues and help release adhesions.

This therapeutic workshop begins with a brief introduction on Myofascial Release, followed by a guided MFR session using balls. This is a self practice designed to release the stuck or restricted spots in common “tight” areas in the body so that you can be equipped with simple and effective tools to try on your own to support your overall health. This will be followed by a Yin yoga practice to support the myofascial release sequence.

What is Myofascial Release:

MFR is a technique/manual therapy used for the effective treatment and rehabilitation of soft tissue and fascial aches, pains, tension and restrictions and adhesions in the connective tissues that wrap, connect and support the muscles in order to restore balance and function.  In MFR, a gentle, pressure is applied to points of restriction (those bunched up spots), allowing the connective tissue to release.
