About The Event
This practice is aimed to stimulate and activating the kidney and urinary meridian lines/pathways of energy. Through yin yoga postures, either by tugging, pulling, stretching or extending, we encourage the chi to flush through the meridian. This removes blockages, and ensures there is a balance between the strength and mobility of the flow of energy in the channel.
Healthy chi has complementary qualities of stable strength and smooth mobility. It directly influences the overall well -being of the body, mind and emotion.
When the chi is balance, we experience physical vitality and strength, clarity and calmness of mind, harmony and peacefulness.
Kidney and urinary bladder are pairs of meridians and organs. Kidney is the yin organ and complement with the yang organ of urinary bladder. Although they have different anatomical functions, their energetic, emotional and mental qualities are similar.
When the kidney chi is balance, emotionally, we will experience a sense of innate openness, gentleness and ultimately, our primordial wisdom will also be affected.
Kidneys are closest to the element of water and are connected to all systems of flow within us.
When the energy of these meridians is out of balance, some of the common symptoms are:
High blood pressure, hypertension and toxicity in the body’s lower abdomen, swelling, bloating and difficulty in urinating. It will also lead to poor circulation on the lower body, aching on the lower back of the body, difficulty recovering from cold, allergies, chronic ear infection, hearing lose, vertigo, dizziness, nausea, soft bone in children, osteoporosis, reproductive issues, irregular menstruation, sexual issues.
Mentally
The kidneys are associated with the short- term memory. If the energy is insufficient, we will have trouble completing tasks and will feel less eager to follow through our plans. We will also feel the lost the sense of personal power and thoughts may spiral in circles of confusion.
Emotionally
Kidney chi imbalance is associated with all kinds of fears, such as a fear of heights, new place, sexuality, being taken advantage of, and death.
